The 42Below Vodka held its Cocktail World Cup competition in New York on March 7 at the Ace Hotel to determine which three US bartenders would compete for the grand prize in New Zealand. The winners were, from left to right,  Mark Stoddard, Todd Thrasher and Sean Hoard.

1½ oz. orgeat syrup

6 sage leaves

3 oz. fresh-squeezed orange juice

Splash soda

Muddle orgeat and 5 sage leaves in glass with ice. Add orange juice and more ice, shake and strain. Top with a splash of soda and garnish with remaining sage leaf.
