The recipe for our 32 East Key Lime Cocktail was inspired by my wedding celebration. My soon-to-be wife and I were both still living on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Her Kansas City family didn’t want a wedding in New York City, and mine didn’t want to go to the Midwest. Key West, Florida, was our compromise!
I’d heard of Key Lime Pie—and the cocktail of the same name—but I always thought of it as more of a novelty/niche item until our wedding reception. The dinner was great, but the highlight was the dessert and drink: Key Lime Pie! We both loved it immediately. The recipe for our 32 East Key Lime Cocktail is only a slight riff from what the locals produced at our wedding dinner.

½ oz. Heavy cream (optional, for a weightier consistency)
Graham-cracker crumbs
One large lime
Rim a Martini glass with lime juice and coat the edge with graham-cracker crumbs. Combine vanilla vodka, Keke liqueur, Licor 43 and pineapple juice and heavy cream is using in a Boston Shaker glass. Shake thoroughly 32 times or until ingredients become frothy. Strain into the Martini glass and garnish with a lime wheel.
