The History Channel has partnered with Newcastle Brown Ale to create a custom draught beer to commemorate the third season of the series Vikings, which premieres tonight at 10 p.m. EST.
For a limited time beginning today, Newcastle Vikings Amber Ale will be available in select bars in 10 states (CA, CO, IL, MA, MN, NC, NV, NY, PA and SC). It features a custom tap handle inspired by the iconic hull of a Viking craft.
Newcastle Vikings Amber Ale owes its color to a full blend of roasted malts providing full-bodied flavor, curbed by a slight bitterness from aromatic German Hallertau Magnum hops. The ale originates from Brand Brewery, the oldest brewery in the Netherlands, founded in 1340. The brewery is in the southern-most part of the country, a region where actual Vikings are said to have roamed between 800 and 900 A.D.
Original digital shorts, a national marketing campaign and in-bar advertising from both partners will support the ale’s launch.
