It was 81 years ago that Prohibition was repealed in the U.S. on Dec. 5, 1933. Here are a few twists on the classic Old Fashioned cocktail to toast this momentous anniversary.
Pumpkin Rum Old Fashioned
1 dash Angostura bitters
1 dash Angostura orange bitters
½ oz. Homemade pumpkin pie syrup
2 oz. Caliche rum
Orange twist
Toasted marshmallow
Roasted pumpkin seeds

1 part Milagro Silver tequila
1 part Ancho Reyes chile liqueur
¼ part Rich simple syrup
3 dashes Angostura bitters
2 Angostura orange bitters
1 hand cut ice cube
Combine all ingredients in a mixing beaker. Add regular ice and stir for 30 seconds. Strain into a double Old Fashioned glass over large hand-cut ice block. Using a vegetable peeler, remove long orange and lemon peels. Express each over the top of the cocktail and rub them together around the rim of the glass. Roll peels together into a rosette and place atop the cocktail.

Black Barrel Old Fashioned
1 part Simple syrup
1 ½ parts Hornitos Black Barrel tequila
½ part Amaro
2 dashes Bitters
2 dashes Orange bitters
Orange peel
Add simple syrup, tequila, amaro and bitters together and stir, adding in ice. Strain over fresh ice and garnish with an orange peel.

Ole Smoky New Fashioned
2 oz. Ole Smoky Charred Moonshine whiskey
2 Ole Smoky Moonshine cherries
Sugar cube
Splash water
2 dashes Bitters
Orange
Muddle orange, cherries with water, bitters and sugar. Combine with Charred Moonshine.

Ketel One Old-Fashioned
1½ oz. Ketel One vodka
1 Sugar cube
2 dashes Orange bitters
In the bottom of a rocks glass, soak the sugar cube in the orange bitters and lightly muddle. Add vodka and ice and slowly stir so the dilution happens slowly. Once the sugar has been dissolved, squeeze the oils from a wide strip of orange peel across the surface of the drink, and garnish the drink with the peel.
